Edition 01: The Character Guide
A collector's reference for every entity in Edition 01. Twelve characters, three tiers, fifty pieces, no restock.
Edition 01 is the beginning of Lux Monsters. Twelve entities, pulled from the Paris Factory across a single unstable fusion cycle. Fifty pieces in total. No restock, ever. This is the full catalogue, piece by piece, so you know what you are looking at before you choose.
Read it the way you would read an auction preview. Short. Useful. No decoration.
The edition was born in the Paris Factory under conditions that were never meant to repeat. Twelve distinct entities, each with its own origin inside the fusion cycle, each with its own role in the finished set. Some arrived first and others entered later in the sequence, but all twelve belong to the same run. When Edition 01 closes, the ledger closes with it.
How Edition 01 is structured
Three tiers sit under one edition.
Standard tier runs at 1,500 euros. Nine characters. Forty pieces in total across the standard tier of the edition. Gold-plated elements, semi-precious gems, certificate of authenticity, luxury packaging box. These are the foundation pieces of any Lux Monsters collection.
Rare tier runs at 4,000 euros. Two characters. Two real gems per piece, 18K gold bezel with a rigid eye module, premium luxury packaging. Each Rare piece carries actual precious stones set by hand into a fixed gold housing.
Super Rare tier runs at 4,500 euros. One character. One-of-one. Solid gold detailing, premium gems, white-glove delivery. There will only ever be one of this piece.
Every character shares the same base construction. 12 centimeter body, roughly 15 centimeters total with the clip. Long-pile premium plush. Poly fiberfill with high rebound. Lobster clasp and jump ring in gold-tone hardware. The design DNA across all twelve pieces sits at the intersection of cute luxury and Tim Burton. Oversized head. Expressive eyes. Slightly creepy-cute smiles. Visible stitch motifs. High-contrast palette in black, pink, and ice blue.
What changes between tiers is the material inside the shell. The plush and the silhouette stay consistent so a collector can display the full edition side by side without visual dissonance. The gold, the stones, and the finishing decide where a piece sits in the hierarchy.
Standard tier, nine entities
NoirRib
Tagline: Everything that exists is born from him.
NoirRib is the first successful experiment out of the factory. Nero colorway. Minimal skeleton ribcage detail embroidered across the chest. Gold fang and gold claw, the signatures that repeat across the edition. Personality: the foundation of the collection, quiet and permanent. If you are starting a Lux Monsters collection and want the foundation piece, this is it. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
SplitWink
Tagline: Half shadow, half bubblegum.
A dual-soul design. Half black, half pink, split along a central stitch seam that runs top to bottom. One eye open, one closed. Play and hidden strategy. SplitWink is already treated inside early collector circles as a collection icon, the piece that defines the silhouette of the range and the colorway that the rest of the edition answers to. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
SplitGrin
Tagline: The laughing version. More aggressive, more cute.
SplitGrin is the sister piece to SplitWink. Same nero and rosa colorway, same central stitch seam, but with a wider grin and a more aggressive tilt. Mischief with teeth. Built for limited drops and for collectors who want the pair completed on their shelf. Displayed together, SplitWink and SplitGrin read as two moments of the same expression, closed and open, held and released. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
PatchPanic
Tagline: Not perfect, but survived.
PatchPanic came out of the factory in fragments and was rebuilt from what remained. Rosa and azzurro colorway. Gold metal button on the chest, embroidered stitch marks across the body that show where the piece was pulled back together. Not perfect, by design. The imperfection is the point. Personality: destroyed and rebuilt stronger. For collectors drawn to narrative pieces and visible history. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
TearBunny
Tagline: The tears do not fall. They remain, like memory.
An emotional anomaly. Ice-blue colorway. A single soft-resin tear drop fixed permanently below the eye, never falling. Emotion held in place. Gold fang, gold claw. Personality: emotion and strength carried at the same time, without contradiction. One of the more collected Edition 01 pieces among buyers who gravitate to the quieter characters in a display. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
SootSniff
Tagline: It was not created. It entered reality.
SootSniff is not on the original factory ledger. It was found among the other entities after a fusion cycle that nobody logged. Nero and azzurro colorway. Embroidered patch detail with a plush nose that extends slightly further than the rest of the face. Personality: mystery and hidden value. This is the edition piece for collectors who like the off-record story, the footnote that turns into the favorite. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
InkBunny
Tagline: It does not follow rules. It creates them.
Unstable matter destined to fade. Nero colorway with pink inner ears, kept minimal and clean against the black fur. InkBunny carries a double gold fang, not a single one, which is the quiet tell for the collector who knows what to look for across the edition. Personality: art and rebellion, the piece that refuses the shape it was given. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
BoneBloop
Tagline: It laughs, but no one knows why.
BoneBloop is the dark humor piece of the edition. Nero and bianco colorway. Skeleton print embroidered in white across the body, readable at a distance. Gold fang and gold claw. A living experiment that plays. Personality: dark yet ironic, the piece that softens the weight of the other characters with its own joke. For collectors who want the entity that smiles back when the lights are off. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
ChonkGloom
Tagline: Heavy, slow, inevitable.
The must-have of the series, by popular vote inside the earliest collector circles. Nero with a pink belly. Chubby proportions that break the silhouette of the rest of the edition and give the piece real presence on a shelf. Double gold fang. Accumulation of error energy made solid. Personality: strong and stable, the anchor of a display. If you can only own one standard tier piece from Edition 01, many collectors will point you here first. Tier: Standard. Price: 1,500 euros.
Rare tier, two entities
This is where Edition 01 crosses into real precious materials. Each Rare piece carries two real gems set inside an 18K gold bezel with a rigid eye module. The bezel is not decorative plating. It is a fixed jewelry-grade housing. Two pieces exist at this tier in Edition 01. RubyRuin and CaratCry together define the top of the serial run.
CaratCry, GEM Edition, Diamonds
Tagline: Cold, precise, unreachable.
CaratCry was created for perfection. When the diamonds were set into the eye modules, the entity lost emotion entirely. Two real diamonds. 18K gold bezel. Rigid eye module that protects the stones and preserves the facet angles at the intended viewing distance. Nero body. A super limited run within the edition. Personality: cold, precise, perfect. CaratCry is the piece you buy if you want the Lux Monsters statement in its coldest, most technical form, closer to a jewelry object than a figurine. Tier: Rare. Price: 4,000 euros.
RubyRuin, GEM Edition, Rubies
Tagline: The eyes no longer reflect light. They devour it.
RubyRuin is the piece that introduced the factory to what it was actually making. When the alchemist inserted rubies, something awakened. Two real rubies. 18K gold bezel. Rigid eye module. Rosa body. The red gaze gives RubyRuin a vampiric presence that still reads as cute from across the room, which is the precise tension Lux Monsters is built on. Personality: born from chaos and obsession, a piece that represents power rather than politeness. For the collector who wants weight on the shelf. Tier: Rare. Price: 4,000 euros.
The pairing of RubyRuin CaratCry, together, is the most asked-about combination inside Edition 01. Owning both is a statement in its own right.
Super Rare tier, one entity
Mint Slime, Signature Edition
Tagline: Awaiting name.
One-of-one. One will ever exist. This is the signature piece of Edition 01. Menta body with a pink slime drip motif running across the crown and down the body. Sapphire gem eyes set in an 18K gold module. Solid gold detailing elsewhere on the piece. Custom luxury presentation box. White-glove delivery to the buyer anywhere in the world.
Mint Slime sits at the top of the edition and at the top of any collection that holds it. Softest form, rarest soul. It is not marked with a serial number out of fifty. It is marked with a serial number of one. Tier: Super Rare. Price: 4,500 euros.
When Mint Slime is sold, Edition 01 loses its Super Rare slot permanently. The next Super Rare piece will appear in Edition 02, and it will be a different entity entirely.
How to choose your piece
You can approach Edition 01 in three honest ways.
Collect the set. Start with NoirRib as the foundation, add the SplitWink and SplitGrin pair, and build toward ChonkGloom. Each standard piece sits at 1,500 euros and gives you a full character in its own right. A complete standard set tells the full Edition 01 story.
Anchor the collection. Pick one Rare piece, either RubyRuin or CaratCry, and let it hold the center of your display. Rare tier pieces carry real precious stones and 18K gold, which means they hold their place in a wider luxury collection next to watches, fine jewelry, or contemporary art.
Take the signature. If you can move on Mint Slime before someone else does, you own the only piece of its kind that will ever be made in Edition 01. That is a different category of decision.
Whichever path you take, the edition will close. When the last piece ships, Edition 01 is done. Edition 02 opens two months later with twelve new entities and the same structure. Different souls. Same factory.
Notes for serious collectors
A few technical points worth knowing before you buy.
The 18K gold bezels on the Rare and Super Rare tier are not decorative housings. They are rigid jewelry-grade settings designed to hold the stones under normal handling and display. The stones are set into the module, not glued to the fabric. This matters for long-term value and for insurance.
Every piece ships with a certificate of authenticity tied to its serial inside the edition. Rare and Super Rare pieces ship with additional stone documentation. When you insure the piece, your insurer will ask for this paperwork. Keep it with the box.
Packaging is part of the object. Edition 01 boxes are built to survive the first decade of ownership without degrading the way retail packaging does. If you intend to resell, keep the box closed when you are not displaying it. Collectors on the secondary market will ask.
White-glove delivery on the Super Rare tier means the piece is hand-carried to the buyer by a trained courier. No standard shipping chain. For Mint Slime specifically, this applies regardless of destination.
Closing the edition
When the last piece of Edition 01 ships, the run closes permanently. There is no second print. There is no anniversary reissue. There is no lost-crate recovery. The fifty pieces that leave the Paris Factory under this edition are the only fifty pieces that will ever exist under this edition.
Edition 02 opens two months later with twelve new entities and the same three-tier structure. Different souls. Same factory.
The Paris Factory is still open. The fusion continues.
